2017 Service Excellence Week

This year, the annual uOttawa Service Excellence Week runs from October 2 to 6. Activities include conferences, the return of the pop-up café, a contest and student awards.

About the week

To celebrate everyone’s achievements in improving the student experience, the University encourages faculties and services to take part in the Week’s activities (see the program below) or to organize their own. If you decide to organize your own activities, they should reward and thank employees for major contributions over the past year, encourage teamwork, raise awareness about the importance of service excellence, and remind employees about the University’s commitment to service excellence. Show us how your team participated in the Week’s events and enter our contest to win a team lunch (see details below)!

Conferences

(by invitation only)

To celebrate everyone’s achievements in improving the student experience and to encourage more employees to promote the vision of Service Excellence, each participant is invited to take part in one of the conferences. (See the program above)

Service Excellence Student Awards

The University of Ottawa is proud to count among its staff members some of its own students. Their work greatly affects the student experience of their peers. Do you know a student, who is a member of your team, whom you would like to thank for helping to promote the vision of Service Excellence? In 150 words or less, tell us why you want to nominate this student. Complete the form. All submissions will be entered in a draw. The winners will win one of two $150 ViaRail passes. The deadline for submissions is October 6, and the winners will be announced on October 13, 2017.

Contest

(for all employees)

Tell us how your team took part in the Week! Send an email with your team stories, images and videos to excellence@uOttawa.ca by October 6 to be entered to win a $250 gift card from the University of Ottawa Food Services. The draw will take place on October 13. The submissions we receive may be featured in the October 18 version of the Gazette.

Photographs and film footage may be taken during the Week’s events, which may include your recognizable image.
